A detailed large-format catalog for a traveling exhibit of Honore Daumier's works, primarily his lithographs. The exhibit was displayed at 8 museums in the U.S. and Europe from 1979 to 1982. Introduction by Kenneth Donahue, brief foreword by Hammer, and an essay by guest curator Agnes Mongan. A color plate of "Advocat Plaidant" adorns the cover. Includes work from the George Longstreet collection that was first sold to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and then purchased by Hammer, a museum trustee.
