Light wear, text clean, previous owner's stampings on endpaper and bottom edge of textblock. Subtitled "A Homosexual Looks for Understanding and Help." A narrative about a closeted gay musician who recounts his sexual experiences from childhood through adulthood, a failed marriage to a woman and imprisonment for public gay sex in a restroom. Drakeford, a counselor affiliated with Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, relates how the musician, through a conversion therapy group, Integrity Therapy, eventually "Healed" and began a heterosexual orientation. The book is notable for its tone of compassion for the gay man and its graphic description of his sexual acts, but does not explore the possibility that Christianity could show any tolerance for a gay person who refused to repent for his behavior.
