Only slight edgewear on red cloth cover; gilt lettering and decorative border on spine. Previous owner's name and "Christmas 1910" neatly printed on front endpaper. Otherwise no markings. Pages lightly yellowed. Overall, this reprint is remarkably clean and unscarred for its age. This novel is the first in Cooper's "Leatherstocking" series, introducing the character of New York frontier woodsman Natty Bumppo, the uncorrupted "natural man." Originally published in 1823.
