Basel Galerie Beyeler 1970 First Edition Trade Paperback Very Good+ Good Art Catalog
90 pp. on heavy stock plus 16 unpaginated pages at rear. Eighteen color plates, most of them tipped in, plus b&w photos. No markings. Small tear near top of the spine on the glassine dust jacket. A sticker on the title page states the catalog was a gift to the Daytona Beach Community College from the estate of F.C. Schang Jr. No library stampings. Front cover shows Tobey standing on a chair and painting a canvas. Catalog for an exhibition, December 1970 through February 1971 marking Tobey's 80th birthday. With brief appreciations in English by John Cage, Narim Gabo and Tom Meiser. A longer essay in German by Marischa Burckhardt is at the rear of the catalog.
