Berlin Abteilung Der Landesaufnahme 1910 Very Good Map 23.5 In Wide By 29 in. Tall 
-Antique map, dated 1910, showing 1 section of a 9-section series of folding topographical maps for German Southwest Africa (later transferred to Britain and now an independent state known as Namibia). Very good condition overall. Place names and map key in German. Consists of 15 separate panels, each 4.75 by 9.5 inches, glued to heavy linen (or possibly canvas?), meant for folding and easy transport. A couple of panels have loose corners, and there are a few loose threads. Most remain firmly attached. Rear side of one panel is age-darkened (likely the panel that was most exposed to light.) This panel also has a handwritten label glued to the linen, plus an oval seal, similar to a postmark. Scale 1:400,000. Shows the town of Grootfontein, and nearby farming estates. Areas shown include Kalk Plateau, Owangowa Veld, and Hoch Plateau, all parts of a larger area labeled Omahe. Political subdivisions that are labeled include Bexirksamt Grootfontein; Districksamt Gobabis and Bexirksamt Waterberg (with a question mark.). Mostly black and white but with pastel shading of brown and blue to indicate rivers, lakes and hills. A label on left edge reads, in English, "South West African Company." A word and 2 arrows are lightly pencilled in script on left edge; no other markings.

An antique German colonial topographical folding map, divided into 24 panels mounted on dark gray linen (or canvas) with cartography by Paul Sprigade, dated 1904. Geographical names and publication data in German. Very good condition, no tears. Shows the region east of Lake Tanganyika, including Lake Rukwa. The mapped area stretches from longitude 30 to 34 degrees and latitude from 6 to 8 degrees 30 minute. Scale is 1:500,000. Tribal areas shown include Ukonongo, Itamba, Uwende, Wungu, Ugala, Ufipa, West Rungwa, Mpimbue. Title box in lower left corner gives this additional information in German: "Hauptsaichlich nach den Aufnahmen des Hauptmann v. Prittwitz u. Gaffron und mit Benutzung unveroffenlichter Aufnahmen von Bezirksamim v. Elpons, Oberleufn H. Fonck, OPberleufn. Glauning, Bontaniker Goetze, D'Kandf, Oberleufn v. Marwitz, Major v. Natzmer, Haupfm. Folded antique topographical map of Heiligenstadt and many smaller cities and towns in Eichsfeld district of Germany. Labeled "385. Heiligenstadt." Cities included on the eastern end of the map are Dingelstadt. Kullstedt, Beuren, Leinefeld and Hundeshagen. On the northern side, Nesselroden and Wollmarshausen; on western side, Witzenhausen and Mollenfelde; on southern side, Allendorf and Wiesenfeld.Moutains and rivers are shown in grayish-green pastels. Scale 1 to 100,000. Stamped at bottom edge "Carl Victor Cassel." Moderate toning of margins. No tears Size: 15 in Tall By 17 in. Wide

An antique German folding map showing a section of German East Africa. Eighteen panels mounted on dark grey linen or canvas. Printed in pastels, mostly tan and blue. Very good condition, no rips. Encompasses an area between 34 and 36 degrees longitude, and 4 to 5 degrees, 30 minutes latitude. areas shown include Iramba and Lake Eyasi in the north, Turu in the mid-section and Ussure andUssandaui in the south. Constructed by Dr. R. Kiepert in association with M. Moisel and P. Sprigade. Scale 1:300,000. Postmark like stamping on reverse side has an ink notation of "3281 XVIII" and a handwritten label. Mostly beige pastels showing mountain ranges and other topographical features. Well preserved, no tears or stains. The 21-panel map, mounted on dark grey linen, folds to hip-pocket size. Area shown has coordinates of 36 to 38 degrees longitude and 7 to 8 degrees, 30 miniutes latitude. 1:3000,000 scale. Place names and tribal names shown include Mahenge,Wahehe, Wassagar, Wapogoro, Ngange, Magali. Labels and key in German. Size: 31 in Wide By 24 in High

Publisher's name obscured by crease -- approximately: Topographischen Abeilung der Landesaufnahm. Vorlaufige Ausgabe. May be connected with the Empire Land Survey Office which did map work in Southwest Africa circa 1900. A general topographical map showing the Zwiebel-Hochebene Plateau (now known as the Nanania Plateau) of southern Namibia, including the villages of Gibeon and Bethanien. The central segment of a nine-segment mapping project. Consists of 15 separate panels mounted on lightly stained cream linen. Corner of one panel has lifted off the backing; rest are secure. Light soil and staining in margins. Mostly black labels and boundaries on light tan background, with blue lines indicating rivers. Geographical coordinates: 16 degrees longitude east to 21 degrees longitude; 33 degrees latitude north to 28 degrees latitude. Other labels shown: Schwarz-Rand; Tiras-Hoch flache; Tiras-Sandfeld. Title: Karte von Deutsch-Ostafrika - A-3 Victoria-See. Price $25. Horizontal format, approx. 3 1 in wide by 24 in high, divided into 15 separate vertical panels, each 4.5 by 8.5 in.m mounted on gray heavy linen (or canvas) for easy folding and transport. Primarily a multi-colored topographical map, dated 1915, showing eastern and southern shorelines of Lake Victoria (Viktoria-See) in the former German East Africa colony. Very good condition. Subtitled along top border: "bearbeited von P. Sprigade and M. Moisel." Place names and margin notes in German. Publisher: Dietrich Reimer (Ernst Vohnsen) in Berlin. Bottom margin note: "Neubearbeitung, abgeschlossen 1 July 1915. Construiert v. gezeichnet v. R. Fischer. Scale: 1:300,000. Coordinates: Lat. 1-2 degrees 30 minutes; Long. 32 to 34 degrees. On back side is a hand-printed label and a round unclear postmark-like stamping, with ink numbers "3281 (or A) IV." Among place names on the map are Bezirk, Nabujongo Is., Ukiroba, Mjita, Butimba, Speke-Glof, Massa, Ukerewe, Schisu Is, Wassimriti.

A German colonial folding map consisting of 18 separate panels of paper mounted on tan linen backing, printed in beige tones. Good condition, but somewhat fragile, with some tears between panels. Scale 1:200,000. Encompasses portion of former German colony of Togolan, roughly from latitude 9 degrees to 10 degrees and longitude 0 to 0 degrees 40'. Shows topographical features, plus towns, rail stations and dams. Place names in German and tribal languages. Regions shown, besides Jendi, include Konkomba, Dago, Nanumba, Gondjanta, Tschokossi, Bapure. Several rubber stampings on linen backside of map, reading "Kolonial -Wirtschaftliches Komittee." Pastedown label.
